In the evening Struis turns into a relaxed wine bar: warm light, soft music and a list that invites you to taste slowly. Tell us what you like, and together we'll find a glass, a half bottle or a bottle for the table, with a flammkuchen or a board on the side.

Our love for wine
Why we also serve our nicest wines as half bottles
We're crazy about good wine and curate our list ourselves. Many wines come from Jurjen, but we're just as happy working with growers and small traders, and buying in ourselves too. A bottle on the table is, for us, the ultimate Italian experience: you keep topping up, the conversation keeps going, and the evening lasts longer than planned.
To keep that culture accessible to everyone, we also offer our nicest wines as 375 ml half bottles. That way two people can enjoy a serious Barolo or Rioja without opening a full bottle, and still try a second wine.

Wine bar on the Kraneweg: the practical answers
- From what time is the wine bar open?
- The wine bar runs from 16:00 until closing at 22:00. We're open from 8:00 Tuesday to Saturday, and from 10:00 on Sunday. We're closed on Mondays.
- What does it cost?
- A glass of wine from 7 euro, a half bottle from 21 euro, a full bottle from 33 euro. A wine tasting is 24, 32 or 40 euro per person.
- Do I need to book?
- For a glass of wine you can just walk in. For a wine tasting, the weekend or a larger group, booking ahead is smart.
- Where are you?
- Kraneweg 62, 9718 JT Groningen, in the Schildersbuurt, a short walk from the centre and the Noorderplantsoen. Paid street parking.
- Are dogs welcome?
- Yes, dogs are welcome inside and on the terrace. We'll set out a bowl of water for them.
- Is everyone welcome?
- Yes. We're wheelchair accessible, LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safespace. Neighbours, students and wine lovers all mix here.

Easy-going atmosphere in our corner building in the Schildersbuurt
Our wine bar sits in a corner building on the Kraneweg, right in the Schildersbuurt and a short walk from the centre and the Noorderplantsoen. Inside it's warm and relaxed: neighbours, students, colleagues after work and regulars all mixed together, with soft music and tables you can easily pull up a chair to.
When the weather's nice, our sunny terrace is the best spot in the neighbourhood. The afternoon sun stays there well into the evening, so a glass of wine with a board tends to last longer than planned.
